پذیرش پناهندگان به لحاظ فلسفه اخلاق عملی انسانی و عدالت طلبانه است. دولتها برابر معاهدۀ ژنو ملزم به پذیرش و میزبانی آنها هستند. اما با اقزایش تعداد آنها و مشکلاتی که برای مردم میزبان پیش می آید سوالات دیگری هم از قبیل مرزبندی های سیاسی جغرافیایی، مسائل نژاد پرستانه و بحرانهای اقتصادی مثل بیکاری مطرح می شوند. در کنفرانس زیر این پرسش ها و تعارض ها بحث خواهد شد. متخصصان فلسفه اخلاق، عالمان علوم سیاسی و جامعه شناسی و رشته های از این دست میتوانند با ارسال مقاله در این کنفرانس شرکت کنند.

In recent times the refugee question became a central challenge in Europe. According to the UNHCR, more than 64 million people had to flee their homes and seek refuge and safety elsewhere. Although only very few of these refugees manage to get to Europe, discussions on the refugee question in Europe are highly controversial. International conventions as the Geneva convention for the protection of refuges oblige states to host refuges. But whereas on the one hand the public and civil society support the protection of refugees and welcome them, on the other hand parts of the public present refugees as a threat and danger. Extremist right wing movements threaten and attack refugees, their homes and individuals of civil society in favor of refugee protection. In all of the European countries national conservative, extreme right and racial discourses and movements are growing.

The Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale University invites applications for its 2016-2017 Fellowship Program. The Center seeks to promote a better understanding of all aspects of the institution of slavery from the earliest times to the present. We especially welcome proposals that will utilize the special collections of the Yale University Libraries or other research collections of the New England area, and explicitly engage issues of slavery, resistance, abolition, and their legacies. Scholars from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Dear Colleagues,

On  the  occasion  of  ۲۴۰۰  years  since  the  birth  of  Aristotle,  the  International Association of Greek Philosophy, the Greek Philosophical Society, the Philosophical Society of  Cyprus  and  other  Societies,  Associations  and  Educational  Institutions  have  decided  to organize a  World Philosophy Congress on the Philosophy of Aristotle, under the Auspices of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP).

This  Congress  will  take  place  in  Athens  where  Aristotle  lived  most  of  his  life.  He studied and taught at Plato’s Academy for nearly 20 years and later he founded the  Lyceum where he taught and composed great works, and where the foundations of philosophical and scientific  research  were  brought  into  being.  Recent  archaeological  surveys  and  excavations have  brought  to  light  the  Lyceum  and  the  Congress  will  hold  Special  sessions  within  its perimeter. بیشتر بخوانید

The Qur’an: Text, Society And Culture’ Conference Thursday 11 – Saturday 13 February 2016 SOAS, University of London

Convenors: Prof. M.A.S. Abdel Haleem and Dr Helen Blatherwick

Proposals are invited for the Ninth SOAS Conference on the Qur’an, to be held from Thursday 11 to Saturday 13 February 2016. The conference series seeks to provide a forum for investigating the basic question: how is the Qur’anic text read and interpreted? Our objective is to encompass a global vision of current research trends, and to stimulate discussion, debate and research on all aspects of the Qur’anic text and its interpretation and translation.

While the conference will remain committed to the textual study of the Qur’an and the religious, intellectual and artistic activity that developed around it and drew on it, contributions on all topics relevant to Qur’anic studies are welcomed and attention will also be given to literary, cultural, politico-sociological and anthropological studies relating to the Qur’an. The final conference programme will take account of the range of proposals actually accepted.

Selected papers will be published as articles in the Journal of Qur’anic Studies, subject to standard outside refereeing. Speakers are expected to give priority to JQS when publishing these articles.
