WORLD SCRIPTS: CONCEPTS AND PRACTICES OF WRITING FROM A COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE
The Summer Academy is organized in the framework of the project ZUKUNFTSPHILOLOGIE: REVISITING THE CANONS OF TEXTUAL SCHOLARSHIP and addresses postdoctoral researchers and advanced doctoral students from the field of language studies, history and cultural studies. The Summer Academy will explore, from a comparative and global perspective, the vocabularies and typologies of writing in various philological traditions and the role of script as a technology in the production, diffusion, archiving and exchange of knowledge.
We would be grateful if you could post the announcement at your institution and circulate it, also per email, among colleagues and scholars who you think would be qualified and interested in applying.
Participants will receive grants that cover the costs of travel and accommodation. Please find the announcement enclosed or here. The deadline for application is January 31, 2015.
