Language-Based Area Studies MSc + PhD studentships in Arabic at the University of Edinburgh

ESRC Scottish Doctoral Training Centre MSc + PhD studentships for 2015 are available at the University of Edinburgh or the University of Glasgow.

Three Language Based Area Studies (LBAS) MSc + PhD studentships will be awarded by the Centre for Russian, Central and East European Studies, (CRCEES), University of Glasgow, and the Centre for the Advanced Study of the Arab World (CASAW), University of Edinburgh.

Starting date September 2015.
CASAW, Edinburgh, invites applicants under its 2+3 model, which entails a two-year Masters in Arab World Studies, including intensive Arabic, followed by three years of PhD funding.

Applicants for study at CASAW should send a CV plus a 1,000 word outline of the proposed research topic and the names of two referees no later than 26 January 2014 to Dr Andrew Marsham (Andrew.Marsham@ed.ac.uk).

Applicants for study at CASAW must also complete an application to the masters in Arab World Studies, available at: http://edin.ac/1gejTKR

Please indicate on your application form that you are applying for an LBAS Scholarship. Applicants to be put forward for an LBAS scholarship by the University of Edinburgh will then be notified of this on or before 2 February 2015, at which point they should then register separately for the scholarship competition.
