Abstract:
In 1973, a painted pottery jar with highly unusual decoration was found at Tappeh Qabrestan, near Qazvin in the Iranian Central Plateau. This painted vessel was briefly described in Persian and published in Kand-o-Kav, a now discontinued journal of the Iistitute of Archaeology of Tehran University. The present article is a detailed treament of the aesthetic qualities and characteristics of the vessel.
