The Iranian World: Essays on Iranian Art and Archaeology Presented to Ezat O. Negahban, Edited by: Abbas Alizadeh, Yousef Majidzadeh, Sadegh Malek Shahmirzadi, Iran University Press, Tehran, 1999
Abstract:
In honor of Professor Ezat O. Negahban, one of Braidwood’s early students, who played aninadvertent, but important role in the story of agricultural origins, I recount here some personal observations on these years. This is not an attempt at a full “history” of the search for agricultural origins nor a recapitulation of the results of this reserch. Rather part of this essay consists of the ways I have been involved in the search for agricultural origins. I also discuss some of the recent conclusion about the role of climate history, and finally, I try to show how the early Neolithic of Iran fits into the picture of agricultural origins that has been developed for the Near East.
