Abstract:
\nThis Paper discusses a bronze disc-headed pin and two bronze discs, all decorated, now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (1972.1856\/1972.2153s, b), in the light of the recently published finds from the Iron Age shrine at Surkh Dum-e Luri in Lurestan. It seeks to demonstrate the role of Elamite imagery in Lurestan in the early Iron Age and to establish the chronological limits for manufacture of the decorated objects of hammered metalwork reported in considerable numbers in the last sixty years from unknown sites said to be in Lurestan.<\/p>\n
