Negahban, Edited by Abbas Alizadeh, Yousef Majidzadeh, Sadegh Malek Shahmirzadi, Iran University Press, Tehran, 1999<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Abstract:<br \/>\nThis paper presents a review of osteological and other evidence concerning birds in Fars Province and a description of the use of bird motifs on painted ceramics from the Bakun period through the Shogha period (ca. 5000-1000 BC). Birds appear on ceramics as elements in both complex and simple designs that are based on different designs rules in different periods.
